Christmas 2009

Well, hope that everyone had a great Christmas!!! Ours started the weekend before Christmas when we drove down to Portland for a caramel corn making party at Bethany's house. Matt, Fiona and I drove down late Friday amongst crazy weekend traffic :( Fiona did awesome sleeping most of the way!!! Saturday we started making the copious amount of caramel corn with the help of Kathy, Krystal and Pam. The boys helped out by taking the kiddos to Costco to buy some more ingredients....it wasn't until after they had left that both Beth and I realized that this was the first time either of them had taken the babes out by themselves! :) Of course they did awesome...they did get a few looks from people at the store...one even made a comment thinking they were a gay couple with twins!

From Beth's house Matt went back up to Seattle for work on Monday and my mom came to pick us up and take us down to Roseburg. Matt joined us Christmas Eve at my parents house for a "traditional" Bavarian dinner. :) The next morning we went over to Matt's dad's house for breakfast and that evening over to David's for dinner. All in all it was a great week visiting family.

Fiona has been doing great...giving lots of smiles and the other night gave me 6 1/2 hours of sleep!!! Although the next night she only gave me 2-3 hours at a time :) She has her 2 month appointment tomorrow....which means shots :( so hopefully all goes well. I have joined 2 newborn groups which have been really great. Not only am I meeting people up here but it is always nice to have people to bounce ideas off of and to hear how the moms of older babies did things. So that is a quick update....here are the pics!

...for some reason I can't get my pics to move once I download them onto my blog so they are pretty out of order...

Opa with my little jail bird...she slept on him for 2 hours one night...the current joke with my dad is that Fiona has 6 toes since they are so dang long it looks like there is more...I know, random :)

Fiona pics

Here's to keep you all happy for a while :) It has been hard to take a lot of "posed" photos with her but I had my friend Tami up this weekend and we got a couple cute ones...she better be more into letting her mom dress her up and take pictures when she is older!!! :)

Had to put one of these in here... :)

My naked baby hanging out in the bath tub...she is getting to like it more and more...and it looks like we are starting to get some thunder thighs on her :)

Few T-day pics and Fiona

So I don't have too many photos from Thanksgiving...it may have something to do with having an infant :) I will have to think about how I can get more picture taking time in. Well here is what I have...not nearly like last year :)

I-5 trip and pics

Just spent a week traveling up and down I-5. We left home last Friday and headed to Portland to see the newest member of the family, Bethany and Jacob's baby boy Granton Tad...full head of hair like Fiona, just blond!! The next day we headed down to Corvallis to hang out with all the "Aunties" from work. Sunday morning I went to go pick up our other "daughter" Tasha. She had been staying with her brother Jim for the last month while we were getting accustomed to our new member. (Thanks Julia and Family!) Then Matt and I needed to sign final papers in Corvallis for selling our house (finally)! Matt headed home with Tasha and my Mom picked me up and down to Roseburg we headed. So it was an event filled week! Fiona did pretty well in the car...slept a lot of the trip although I was in the back seat the whole time to keep her from getting too upset :) Here are a few pictures from the trip...have more on the other camera...will get those up soon.

Fiona Pics

Like promised, I am trying to keep them coming....haven't done a newborn session yet like I would like, all in good time :) Little Tad (Matt' sister's baby) sounds like he will be making an appearance today, she was induced this morning and sounds like things are going well. Fiona has her 2 week appointment tomorrow, I'm very interested to see how much weight she has gained...she had lost almost 1 and 1/2 pounds at her first appointment (2 days after birth), we supplemented over that weekend with a little formula until my milk came in and the next appointment she was up to the same weight she left the hospital (8lb 13 ounces) so we are hoping that she is back up to birth weight 9lb 8 ounces tomorrow. I think it will be more, she seems to be going through a growth spurt...eating all the time!!! So there is the quick little update for now :)

she sucks so hard on the pacifier that it leaves rings...just think how my poor nipples feel!!

My long little girl...how in the world did she fit!

Great Aunt Penny with Miss Fiona

Had to include this pic, we had just taken the pacifier out of her mouth trying to get an awake picture....I think she so looks like my cousin Annikah here, I know I have seen a baby/toddler pic of her with this exact face!

Fiona 1 week old

Things are going very well, we are slowly figuring things out...or at least trying to :) It is so funny how the little things (like the fact she stayed asleep in her boppy chair for 2 hours instead of 2 minutes) make you so excited. We have now had multiple diaper changes without crying or screaming and although she hasn't taken to her crib yet she is doing really well through the night (next to me in bed :)...we will work on this one later, right now sleep is more important). So here are a few photos from yesterday (1 week old). She got her first bath, umbilical cord fell off and went on a little walk....very full day for our little miss. I also had to include a few of her wide mouth screaming just to show you the opposite side of the little princess :)...

Although this was the end of our trip, I thought this would be a good picture for the beginning of this website
