And we're back :)
Not that we were really anywhere....and that was the problem, I think, with my lack of posts these last few months. It wasn't because we were too busy and I didn't have time to sit and write but because I really didn't have a whole lot to write about let alone any photos to share. The last month or so has actually been pretty nice, getting back into a routine and slowly working on little projects around the house. The weather has been crazy (as I know most of you have experienced, in fact it is hailing right now as I type!), so photos haven't really been on my "to do" list. I much prefer to shoot outdoors and between the rain and my general lack of creativity lately I just don't have any to share. I do have a few i-phone pics I will post to try and make this entry a little more interesting :)
Monkey has been growing fast, like they all do. Has the walking thing down, working on her speed. Loves to climb on everything...it's like she thinks she isn't tall enough! In fact, we just had her 16 month appointment today and all Dr. M could say is "well she's really tall isn't she?". She is currently 35 inches tall (which is the average height of a 28 month old girl), but on the lighter side at 23 lbs. I think she would have been a little heavier but has been fighting a cold the last couple of weeks and hasn't been to interested in food. So as you can imagine, it is very difficult to find clothes!
As anyone with a little one will tell you, they amaze you every day. Matt and I have to remind each other that she understands way more than we sometimes think and have to be careful what we say. Something had spilled on the floor and I casually said, "Fiona, go grab a towel and wipe that up". She disappeared and came back with a wash cloth from the hall closet and started to wipe the floor. I didn't even know she knew what was in that closet! And the other day I was in the kitchen and she had wandered off to her room and came back in a few minutes later with her trash sack from her room and brought it over to the kitchen can and put it in. She loves having little jobs to do. After I change her diaper she grabs the dirty diaper and takes it to the diaper trash. It has been so much fun to see her figure things out and how pleased she is with herself when she does :)
We have a trip to Hawaii planned for May. It seems so far off, I have had the travel bug lately and am so excited to go somewhere. We are staying at a place right on the beach, which will be great for Fiona to play in the sand. The only thing I am not looking forward to is the flight. We are taking advantage of the under 2 yrs lap child policy which means we will have a squirmy little kid on our laps for 5+ hours....yippy. Other than that, not much else planned. I am hoping to get down to Salt Lake City to visit my friend who just had twins and see them, and possibly a trip down to SD to see family with my mom.
Well, I guess that is about it for now. I have promised myself the next nice day out I will pull out my camera...hope that it will be sooner than later but the forecast doesn't look too good. Until then, here are a couple random photos I took with my i-phone of the munchkin....

Christmas 2010
It's only been about 2 weeks since Christmas but it is already a distant memory. It seems the holiday season sneaks up so quickly but also disappears just as fast. This year the holiday weekend was surprisingly mellow. My parents came up Thursday to help us with some yard work and Pam's boyfriend George had come up from Mexico the week before and that was it for company. Christmas morning was definitely more fun this year with Fiona....she had a great time opening presents, and not just hers either :) Of course at this age the opening and playing with the boxes are so much more fun than the actual gifts! Even though there wasn't a huge house full of people we cooked like there was and ate way too much. I was able to take some Christmas photos of Fiona and I'm also dubbing them 14 month pics too. I don't plan on doing monthly photos anymore, maybe every couple of months to keep my sanity :)
Hope everyone had a great time with family and friends and looking forward to seeing as many of you this year as possible!

Bend Weekend
Alright, the craziness of Christmas is over and Fiona's photobook is done so I can finally get back to my normal photo editing (maybe not editing, just going through them!) and taking and post some pics! At the beginning of December Fiona went on her 4th plane trip and we flew to Bend to visit the Noslers and Gilsdorfs (and you too Sheri :) ). It was Chase's 1st birthday so it worked out to fly in, spend a couple of days with the girls and their kiddos and stick around for the party that Saturday. We had an easy flight, munchkin is pretty used to the routine, although she is much more active than she was at 11 weeks or 5 months or 8 months, but I brought my bag of snacks and toys and the hour "flew" by. And can I just tell you how nice it is to travel when all the little things you need are already there?! (like a pak n play, high chair, car seat, strollers...) so nice to travel light! It was so great to see Susie and Cambria, we are able to catch right up and chat like we talk everyday... I love them! We also got to visit little man Brock who was born in June and I finally got to see him. Fiona also started walking on this trip (of course when we are away from Dad!). She had taken a few steps here and there but really started to cruise around while we were in Bend. Maybe it was because of the carpet and she was willing to risk a little more with a cushioned floor. Crawling is still her preferred mode of transportation but each day she is getting steadier.
Hope everyone had a great Christmas...I will get those pics up soon but for now, here are a few from our trip to Bend.

Fiona helping Chase open presents
Fiona LOVED Chase....maybe a little too much. She would go up and give him a big hug, but he just wasn't too sure about her....he already knows about girls :)
Chase looks like he wants to tell Fiona off for opening his presents
The messy Birthday boy....this was on his actual b-day (Dec. 8th) and was a much messier cake than the one at his party
Grandma Sheri got into the action with kisses from her boy
Brock man!
Miss Brooklyn...she loves to dress up in her mom's clothes, including her heels!
Fiona climbing the stairs, oh how she loves the stairs
Fiona giving Brock loves, and big sister Brooklyn pushing her out of the way because she is the only one that can hug "her" baby :)
The Crew; Suz, Fiona (she wanted to go play on the stairs not get her picture taken), Susie, Chase, Cambria, Brock and Brooklyn
Naked baby time...what cute butts :)
Mr. Blue eyes
....hmmm, wonder where he gets those blue eyes from :)
Grandma Sheri made the awesome giraffe cake and Susie and I had fun making cupcakes
Party decorations....yes, Fiona is climbing up onto the window sill
All the kids at the Birthday....8 under the age of 4
The "man" of the hour :)
Cambria and her kiddos

Although this was the end of our trip, I thought this would be a good picture for the beginning of this website
